About the event
There are a diverse amount of ways we can regenerate our living environment. This weekend we look to the different approaches of regenerative practices to create resilient and adaptable communities & ecosystems.
Saturday
9 am - 12 pm
W1: Regenerative Agriculture & large-scale ecosystem restoration can qualitatively preserve & improve soils, pastures, forests & wetlands while simultaneously drawing down tons of excess carbon from the atmosphere, turning it into biomass and sequestering it in our soils. We will be visiting a North Canterbury property that is demonstrating productive food systems with animals on their land.
1pm -4 pm
W2: Sustainable Forestry offers many ecosystem services including timber, fresh water, carbon storage, areas of recreation and natural habitat & biodiversity. Understanding these dynamics we can conserve our forests in their disturbance & succession patterns. Learn about the sustainable practices suitable for forestry in permaculture design.
